Sarah and the City: Day 2

Take me back! Now a week has passed, and my longing for this city grows stronger. Day two of this adventure was positively outstanding. My friends and I started out our day at Waffles and Dinges for breakfast as we admired all the funky street art of East Village along the way. We hopped on and off of the Citi Bikes as our means of transportation as we explored the city along the river. Our first afternoon stop was at the Frying Pan, a docked boat restaurant with the most breathtaking views of the water. Next, we walked the High Line, a remodeled railroad track across the skyline. Visiting the 9/11 Memorial, Wall Street, and eating street food was also on the fun-filled agenda. My maroon baseball tee from Target, dark DL1961 denim, and plaid flannel not only matched the background of the city, but were the perfect layers for this autumn afternoon.

Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Psalm 36:5
I am not sure if it was because I am infatuated with New York more than anywhere else in the world, or the fact that the skyscrapers draw my attention upward, but the skies in this city are nothing like I have every seen. Only the God of the Heavens, could create a sky that one moment, was gloomy, and then the next rays of sunshine part the brightest white clouds, that end in magical sunsets. The vastness of the atmosphere above reminds me daily of God’s creational power, and His love is proven through nature’s beauty.
Have a splendid week!
