Haute Cakes Caffe- Isaiah 4:6

Pancakes. Hot cakes. Haute cakes. This adorable little cafe served as just the perfect goodbye grounds for a girl’s breakfast as my bestie Kellie said au revoir back to Paris! I devoured the avocado toast with scrambled eggs on top and we split the blueberry buttermilk haute cakes which were to die for! The weather is heating up in Costa Mesa and luckily this cafe’s out door patio was shaded with an abundance of trees and umbrellas. The environment takes brunching to a casual, yet whole new level.
When the heat turns into the 80’s, I resort to shorts. These black leather shorts (Free People) and black leather vest (BP at Nordstrom) was a surprisingly breathable combination. My gray cotton tee (Topshop) layered back with these leather pieces made for a perfect brunch time outfit. Sometimes when I wear shorts, my legs can look a little on the shorter side, so I love to add a heeled sandal that is not too tall! I don’t want to feel exposed! Since we were walking to the restaurant, I carried my Phillip Lim for Target cross-body bag and wore my go-to sunglasses (BP at Nordstrom). Everyone is always looking for a new brunch hot spot, and Haute Cakes is the place to go!

There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day,
and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.
Isaiah 4:6
Just as I was looking for a shady table at Haute Cakes, sometimes we are looking for shelter in times of heat in our day to day routine from the pressures of life. Because of God’s grace and love, we can always look to Him for shelter. He is our refuge and protection whether we are going through a dry spell or an outrageous storm. He is by our side in all circumstances.
Have a cool week!
