Monster Mash- Genesis 1:21

Are you kitten me right meow? Halloween is 10 days away and there is still so much festiveness that I need to indulge in! This Monday, my sister and I hosted our very own Monster Mash, a sisterly dinner party for two! Even for a small soiree, planning the details was quite the process. I mean, spending hours on Pinterest searching for the perfect recipes. Then raiding Michael’s for all of their 50% of harvest decorations. Lastly, preparing the Candy Corn Cocktails (Recipe Here) and harvest-shaped truffle oil mac and cheese was a doozy! For the perfect Monster Mash atmosphere, we lit some candles and booted up Pandora’s Halloween Party play list as the party began.
In the spirit of All Hallows Eve, I finally had the perfect opportunity to wear my new favorite kitten stockings that my boyfriend’s sweet mother, Marie picked up for me during her last visit to Canada. I am just so obsessed with the illusion that they are knee-high socks, but in fact they are tights! Marie suggested that they would pair perfectly with an oversized sweater, and boy was she right! It’s not very often that I find myself wearing all black, but if there was a time and a place, our Monster Mash was the perfect occasion. Because the tights were the focal point of the outfit, I kept everything else simple. However, I did try a new Mac lip color that was a deeper and darker red than I would typically wear, but now I am hooked!

God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:21
While I am a fan of American Horror Story, Knott’s Scarry Farm and other twisted movies, I take all the creepy creatures I see with a grain of salt. Because of my faith, I don’t get scared of make-believe stories. I can appreciate the season of Halloween without forgetting where my heart belongs! The true monster of this world is sin and as long as we are running towards God, he will be our protector!
Have a spooky week!
