Have you noticed that this season’s biggest scarf trends are on opposite ends of the spectrum? Your options are giant, oversized, blanket scarfs (see my post here) or thin, silky neck scarfs. Violà!
When it comes to trendy accessories such as the neck scarf, I will only buy ONE for the season, and find different ways to style it. I’ve made the mistake of collecting hot items, and then ditching them seasons later when I’ve have moved on to the next best thing. This BP brand neck scarf from Nordstrom was a deal, $15.
I opted for a patterned version so that I could pair it with solid colors for a more minimalistic look. This metallic tank with the striped neckline couldn’t have been a more perfect match. With the colder weather gracing us with its presence, a third piece was a must. Cue the black boyfriend blazer! To avoid looking TOO much like a flight attendant, I styled the top half of the outfit with my edgy raw hem denim that I wore in Seattle (see how I styled it here). AND THE SHOES… I fell in love with these Steve Madden black leather booties in a heartbeat. I’ve worn them all week, and even with the heel, I have yet to feel any pain. SCORE.
Alright, so tying this dang neck scarf. These skinny bad boys are so long!
Step 1: Fold the scarf in half ‘hotdog style.’
Step 2: Wrap 3 Times
*In order to get a small bow after knotting it, I recommend wrapping it 3 times around your neck. Wrap this scarf the same way you would a regular winter scarf. Start with one end and keep wrapping.
Step 3: Knot
*When you are happy with the length that’s left, knot once, loosely. Rotate to the side or you can even rotate the knot to the back. This took me a few tries to get it right, so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t look perfect after the first try!

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Kindness AND truth. The world needs a little more of both! Wouldn’t you agree? Wrap these traits around your neck, but knot them a little tighter than you would that neck scarf. Then let kindness and truth be imprinted on your heart. It’s internal and eternal. Proverbs 3 is one of my favorite chapters of the Bible. It lays out what following the Lord looks like, and how that positively influences us now, and in Heaven!
Have a blessed week!
