Donut Diaries- Matthew 11:28

Happy Thanksgiving week! In the spirit of all the sugar we will be consuming on Thursday,  I wanted to share a new addition to my Donut Diaries series. Donuts are not a traditional Turkey-Day dessert, but I still somehow manage to work them into my holiday diet.

Pins, patches, and embroidery are so HOT this season. These embellishments allow for a hint of personalization to our everyday wardrobe. Of course, I was drawn to this donut embroidered tee from Nordstrom. Believe it or not, this tee is actually from the Rail which is the mens’ casual department. The size small was just right!

Button-up skirts and plain tees make for an effortless outfit idea. A girl can never have too many black skirts, and the button-up just another staple in my closet. I highly recommend purchasing button-up skirt with some stretch, so that the buttons don’t pull after breakfast. I mean, it’s hard to say no to those dang donuts!

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

When you are having a rough day in the office and someone walks in with a pink box of donutty goodness,  people seem to perk right up! As joyful as the holiday season is, it tends to bring added stress that we just don’t ever get used to. When time is limited, to-do lists run long, and patience gets shorter, think of the last verse from Matthew 11. Jesus asks us to come to him because he will give us rest! Don’t lines at the store, shipping delays, and political differences within the family burden you. Give it all to God!

Have a blessed week!
