The New Off the Shoulder- Luke 15:31

Off-the-Shoulder tops are back this season in a BIG way! Last year, we were just getting started with this trend, and it’s already evolving! Bigger sleeves, halter straps, and ruffles are just a few of the far from subtle ways that off-the-shoulder top is making a statement. This blush and floral print Chelsea 28 blouse from Nordstrom is sophisticated and feminine and has ‘Style Servant’ written all over it! The primary colored print is dying to be paired with an equally as bright flared pant and a pair of sassy mules. White accessories are white hot for spring, so from the earrings to the Coach clutch, I am all about the white!

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate to be glad because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.'”

Luke 15:31-32

As part of my New Years Goals (see blog post here), I set out to read one book a month. My current read is called The Prodigal God, by Timothy Keller. Keller breathes new life into the parable of the Prodigal Son, clarifying that this story is more than a testament to the father’s forgiveness of the younger son’s sins, but rather an eyeopening revelation that the older brother is just as distant from God as the younger son. Following the Christian ‘rules’ doesn’t equate to a strong relationship with the Lord. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father is deeper than our ‘good works.’ Is our obedience out of love and respect, or fear and a position to gain control? If our motive is anything other than love, we need to examine our heart, and evaluate how deep our relationship with the Lord truly is!

Have a blessed week!
